It is confirmed....

Harley was bitten by a spider last weekend. The huge juicy bubble that we found on his neck on Sunday when we came home from camping is still there. Since it had not changed in almost 5 days, we decided it was time to head to the vet. After the doc squeezed on it, she said it was really hard and that nothing would come out of it. So, she took a sample of the skin and the cells and looked at it under the microscope and sure enough, there were 2 puncture wounds in the middle of the bubble. So, it has been confirmed by a professional, Harley was bitten by a spider and is going to survive. As the vet was telling us what she found, Harley climbed under my seat and proceeded to let out the loudest and stinkiest bulldog fart you have ever heard or smelled. I was mortified, because it came out from under MY CHAIR!!! She just laughed and said that he shared his toxic fumes with her while she poked and prodded his neck in the other room! She gave us a prescription for some antibotics, which she told us to get filled at Wal-Mart, because it was one of their $4 prescriptions.

After leaving the vet, we headed to Wal-Mart to get the antibotic. The pharmacist proceeds to ask "Has the patient ever been here before?" We just laugh and say "No, he's not allowed in the store." She just sort of looks at us funny. Then she says "What is the patients name?" We answer "Harley Dorminy." Again, she looks at us funny, like what sort of parents would name their child Harley??? She asks for the patients date of birth. Matt and I looked at each other and said "I don't really know. It was sometime in December of 2005." Again, she looks at us like what kind of parents are you guys. You don't even know when your child was born. She finally recognized that the prescription came from a Vet's office and got a good laugh about it. I know all of you were sitting on the edge of your seats, waiting to hear what the bulging red blob was on his neck and now you know!
Harley wanted to give a shout out to all the fellow blog readers and says "Thanks for being so concerned about me! Don't worry, I'll be back to my oldself in no time at all!"

KIM!! You had me cracking up! Poor Harley! But as far as the name goes....I know 2 people with sons named Harley...One is totally obsessed with them and rides ALL the time...the other is a neighbor who said naming his son Harley is the closest he'd ever come to having a Harley of his own :) Hope he is all better soon :)
