We found out today that Matt is OFFICIALLY beginning the DeKalb County Fire Academy on Monday, January 25!!!!
As many of you know, Matt has been trying to get a job with a fire department for almost 2 years! We have filled out applications to so many departments that we cannot even count! Forsyth, Gwinnett, Hall, Barrow, Clayton, Cobb, City of Smyrna, City of Atlanta, City of Johns Creek....and the list goes on and on! He has taken eight agility tests and eight written tests with different departments....and he never gave up the hope of becoming a firefighter!!! Who ever knew that it was such a long process!!! I am so proud of him for not getting discouraged or getting down during these past 2 years. I am not saying they have been easy, but we have made it!!
The long journey of waiting is finally over and a new journey has begun. Over the next few months he will go through intense training, so keep him in your prayers!!! Thank you for all of your support and encouragement over these past two long years!!!
Only in Georgia can we get so incredibly excited about a "dusting" of snow! I mean seriously! I heard a lady on the news this morning say "We survived the blizzard in 1993 and we will survive this one too." SERIOUSLY? This was not even a "good" snow! People are sending in pictures to the news stations of their 6 inch tall snowmen!! I saw an employee in the Wendy's parking lot this morning pouring HOT water on the ice to help it melt quicker! NO JOKE! What does she think is going to happen to that water that she was dumping in the parking lot?
On that note, here are some of the 150 pictures that I took today out in the SNOW! Everyone has pictures of their kids all bundled up and playing in the snow, we have pictures of our dogs! Oh well, maybe one day the dog pictures will be replaced with pictures of kids!
WIPE OUT!!! Tiger hit a patch of ice and spun out majorly! He recovered quickly though! Check out those ears! They're HUGE!
Harley has made a New Years Resolution to lose the JUNK IN THE TRUNK!!! He has gotten so wide lately! We're going to have to get a treadmill for him to walk on since he won't go out in the cold or rain!
