Another Family Picture Session

An old friend of mine that I used to work with contacted me a while back and asked if I could take some photo's of her family sometime this fall. We met today at Sims Lake Park in Suwanee and it was absolutely perfect! The leaves were AMAZINGLY beautiful! Matt and I got there about 30 minutes early because I always like to scope out some good spots for pictures. The park was COVERED with photographers! One family was having a picture taken of their 2 boys who were sitting on top of a fence that was about 4 feet tall. As soon as we walked up, one of the boys fell off the fence backwards onto his head. EMT Matt went straight to work (even with his torn rotator cuff!) He stayed on scene and kept the mom and boy calm until the ambulance arrived. The boy was fine, but had a huge knot on his head! Okay, but back to the picutres.....Here are some of my favorite shots of the Dollar Family!

Ellijay

We had one last outing with some of the people from Matt's Fire Academy this past weekend. We booked a cabin in Ellijay and had an amazingly relaxing weekend! The most stressful thing we did on Saturday was took a trip to Wal-Mart! I could really get used to doing nothing! I told one of the girls Saturday afternoon that I would much rather have absolutely nothing to do than to have a million things to do!

My mom has made this "trail mix" many times before, but this was the first time that I actually perfected it! Mom doesn't usually put pecans in it, but I tried it and it was DELICIOUS!

Our view of the Cartecay River. We stayed in this same cabin last October and absolutely love it!

Matt brought his rubber boots so he could fish in the river and keep his feet wet. As you can tell from this picture, that plan didn't work out so well! He stood in the freezing river for hours on Saturday! The man loves to fish!

Crystal and Kendra
We woke up Saturday morning to SNOW!!!! Okay, so it was only a very slight dusting, but it is still snow nonetheless! Kendra and Danny are from Colorado and were not very impressed with what we call SNOW!

Hanging out by the river!

Making the 1,000 step climb back up to the cabin. It wasn't really 1,000 stairs, but it really felt like it! Harley was not a fan of all the stairs!

Nothing like a relaxing nap with my little T!!

Kendra and Danny (the Colorado Natives)
What a face!
Brian and Crystal (the newly engaged couple)

More quality time with Tiger (or "White Dog" as Danny named him this weekend)! Can you tell which dog is my favorite??

Matt's wonderful photography skills!

The Guys! Surprisingly they aren't doing anything stupid or immature in this picture!

Couple pictures in front of the fire!
Couldn't you get used to drinking a cup of coffee and listening to the river down below every morning? I LOVE IT!

Every time we come home from a weekend trip, Harley does not want to get out of the car. We will literally chase him from the front to the back of the car. This time, Matt grabbed him real quick so he didn't have time to run. However, he still wouldn't come in the house. He laid out by the car for a good 30 minutes before he came inside. I think he has such a good time on our weekend getaways and is afraid if he goes inside the house we may never take him with us again! Crazy dog!

Gwinnett County Teacher of the Year Banquet

I got the honor of attending the Gwinnett County Teacher of the Year Banquet last Thursday evening. I was super excited about this event because some of the previous TOTY's at my school had told me how special they make you feel on this night. The dinner was held at the Gwinnett Center and it was SUPER nice! They served a delicious candle lit dinner and then honored all of the TOTY's from every Gwinnett County Public School. Here are some pictures from our evening out!

I am usually the one behind the camera! I kept telling Matt, that's enough picture taking! Now I know how everyone feels when I am around with my camera!

Have you ever seen a corsage so huge?? It kept pulling my cardigan down all night! It did have a great aroma though!

Me and my new principal, Mrs. Chris Godfrey

I am on the BIG screen receiving my plaque and check!

What a beautiful (and extremely heavy) corsage!

Showing off my plaque!
