And the winner is......

I love going to fall fesitvals! We went to the City of Sugar Hill Fall Festival last Saturday. My school set up a booth set up and we helped there for a little while, then enjoyed the festivities. A local professional fisherman is always there giving fishing and drawing names for prizes. Matt usually hangs out with him while I work our booth. Well, Saturday Matt was the grand prize winner!!!! He was like a kid in a candy store when they called him to come get his prizes. He was absolutely THRILLED! The prizes included a very expensive rod and reel, 2 shirts, a hat, and a tackle box full of lures. There couldn't have been a better prize for him to win!

The next blog update will be more camping pictures! We are going camping at Fort Mountain State Park in Chatsworth, GA for 4 nights! I can't wait! Matt's 29th birthday is on Sunday, so we will be celebrating his birthday camping style this year!

In the Spirit of Halloween......

I started thinking back to Halloween costume parties that I have attended. I have to say that my senior year of college was the most fun! All of my roommates and our boyfriends all dressed us and went to a party together. In the picture above, standing up we have Charles, dressed as Richard Simmons; Julie, dressed as a very big flower; Sandy, the angel, Jeff, the doctor. Sitting is Laura, the ferry; Me, the Harley Biker Chick; and Matt, the hunter. This was typical apparel for Matt during this time of year!

Me and Sandy at UGA/UF game
While I had the scanner out, I decided to scan some other fun pictures from our college days. After watching the DAWGS win again tonight, I decided to post my favorite UGA Football game pictures! Several of these are from Georgia/Florida games....in honor of next week's game!
Laura, Me, and Julie at Auburn
Me and Erika in Jacksonville
Me, Amanda, Kristy, and Erika a
Jule (senior year roommate) in Jacksonville
Whitney, Me, Sherri, and Cecil in Jacksonville
Now don't get me wrong, I love my life now as a married woman; but college days were so much fun! I mean who wouldn't enjoy going to class for only 2 or 3 hours a day, napping until noon if you wanted to, revolving your weekend plans around the football schedule, and hanging out with friends all the time. It's funny to think back at how stressed we were but how little we had going on or to worry about.

It is confirmed....

Harley was bitten by a spider last weekend. The huge juicy bubble that we found on his neck on Sunday when we came home from camping is still there. Since it had not changed in almost 5 days, we decided it was time to head to the vet. After the doc squeezed on it, she said it was really hard and that nothing would come out of it. So, she took a sample of the skin and the cells and looked at it under the microscope and sure enough, there were 2 puncture wounds in the middle of the bubble. So, it has been confirmed by a professional, Harley was bitten by a spider and is going to survive. As the vet was telling us what she found, Harley climbed under my seat and proceeded to let out the loudest and stinkiest bulldog fart you have ever heard or smelled. I was mortified, because it came out from under MY CHAIR!!! She just laughed and said that he shared his toxic fumes with her while she poked and prodded his neck in the other room! She gave us a prescription for some antibotics, which she told us to get filled at Wal-Mart, because it was one of their $4 prescriptions.

After leaving the vet, we headed to Wal-Mart to get the antibotic. The pharmacist proceeds to ask "Has the patient ever been here before?" We just laugh and say "No, he's not allowed in the store." She just sort of looks at us funny. Then she says "What is the patients name?" We answer "Harley Dorminy." Again, she looks at us funny, like what sort of parents would name their child Harley??? She asks for the patients date of birth. Matt and I looked at each other and said "I don't really know. It was sometime in December of 2005." Again, she looks at us like what kind of parents are you guys. You don't even know when your child was born. She finally recognized that the prescription came from a Vet's office and got a good laugh about it. I know all of you were sitting on the edge of your seats, waiting to hear what the bulging red blob was on his neck and now you know!
Harley wanted to give a shout out to all the fellow blog readers and says "Thanks for being so concerned about me! Don't worry, I'll be back to my oldself in no time at all!"

It's finally FALL!

I am sure by now, ya'll are beginning to think that all we do on the weekends is go camping. Well, you are pretty much right! Going camping makes us slow down and relax. Matt started watching the weather early in the week and saw that it was going to be FALL like weather, so we booked a campsite! Friday night we sat by the campfire and ate Brunswick stew for dinner, then went to bed around 9:30. After breakfast (which is our favorite camping meal) Saturday morning, we went back in the camper and played cards with the heater at our feet! It was AWESOME that we actually needed the heater! After a game of cards, I sat outside by the fire and finished Marley: A dog like no other. I was crying like a baby when I finished the book. What a site; me sitting at the campfire reading a book while bawling my eyes out!!!!
Later in the day, Kerri, Karson, and Kamden came to visit. Kylie had gone to the Georgia/Vandy game with Aaron, so Kerri and the boys had a day out.

The dogs always enjoy themselves while we are out in the great outdoors! Maybe once we have kids, I won't post so many pictures of our dogs, but that is all we have to offer right now :>)

I have posted before that Matt enjoys playing with the campfire. Well, we don't ever take our own firewood with us. We go out and find it! We've become friends with the old couple that is the campground host, so Friday night they gave us some wood to get by. But on Saturday, we set out on a quest to find our own. When we returned from our quest, my Jeep looked like this:
Yes, that is an ENTIRE TREE hanging out of my car! We got some looks as we drove back to our site! Oh well, that is what camping is all about!

Harley was really stressed out on the ride home because he didn't have a whole lot of room in back of the Jeep. Then once we got him home, we discovered a HUGE lump on his neck. The hair has fallen out all around it and the lump is really pussy. Not sure what that is, but I will keep you posted!

Anybody have an idea of what it could be?

There are a couple more new posts below! Enjoy!

Birthday Celebration

Wednesday was my sisters 31st day, so we had to celebrate. In our family, birthdays = going out to eat! The birthday girl chose to eat at Longhorns this year and it was so good! If you have never had their crab bake, you should!! After dinner, we went back to Kerri and Aarons' house for cake and ice cream and gifts. Kylie and Karson just had to show us their Halloween costumes while we were there. I love celebrating birthdays!

$1.89

Yep, that's right. $1.89 for a gallon of gas!!!!! The Marathon Gas Station on Peachtree Industrial at Shadburn Ferry has always had gas much cheaper than the other stations around, but on Friday afternoon they had regular unleaded gas for $1.89!!!! There was about 50 cars in line to fill up to. We had the camper behind us and didn't really want to sit in line pulling it, so we went back Satuday morning and of course, they were out! Oh well, we ended up filling up at the Texaco at Friendship Road for $2.29 a gallon. We were able to fill my Jeep up for $38.00!!!! I was SOOO excited about that! Who would have ever thought that we would be blogging about gas prices? More to come of our weekend camping trip later today!
